Our MUNch event is a lunchtime info session to provide brief info on what Model United Nations, also known as 'MUNning', is and where to look for opportunities. We aim to provide a small glimpse and perhaps introduction for many to aspects of MUNning such as rules of procedure, voting, and the different types of opportunities available. Raiyaan Mahbub from Melbourne United Nations Society will also be there to talk about MUNning opportunities through MUNS!

Melbourne JD students are hosting an Iftar dinner to celebrate the breaking of the fast for the month of Ramadan. Iftar dinners are a symbol of friendship, social harmony and understanding. The GLSA is thrilled to announce that former Federal Court Judge and renown public interest-focused Barrister - Ron Merkel QC - will be speaking at the Semester 1 Global Thinking Lecture Series (GLTS).
Mr Merkel will be speaking on cases such as CPCF, M68, S99, and topics including indefinite detention, offshore processing in the 3rd world and turn back policies. The event will be 6:15pm, 9 May 2019 in Room 109.

Twenty International Students will be taken into the offices of HSF and Baker Mckenzie to learn about the respective firms and meet with lawyers. This will be a day long event running on the 30th of April. Registration can be accessed through the GLSA Facebook page.
The GLSA is proud to present Dr. Hop Dang as our special guest speaker for this exciting event!
Dr. Dang currently works as an arbitrator and academic based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Before setting up Hop Dang’s Chambers in Hanoi, he was a partner at Allens for many years with a strong practice in cross-border infrastructure projects and international commercial arbitration.
Come along for a night of deep insight as we seek to uncover the answers to burning questions such as "What do International commercial Lawyers and Arbitrators do?" and "What should I become?" Be sure to bring your own questions and curiosity as we share in the lessons and experiences of Dr. Dang!
